Meet our pastors
Pastor Stephen Sauer
Pastor Sauer has served Messiah Lutheran Church since its beginning in 1994. He was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to Pastor Joel and Marie Sauer. He graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 1984 and served the Wisconsin Ev. Lutheran Synod as a traveling missionary for one year. He married Tina Mohr in 1985 in Morenci, Michigan and was assigned that year to Martin Luther Church in Oshkosh, WI where he served until he accepted the call to start Messiah. The Lord has blessed Pastor and Tina with 5 children - Sarah, Alyssa, Brian, Laura and Casey.
Pastor Sauer has served the church at large in different ways. He served as a spiritual advisor to the LWMS chapter in Oshkosh; circuit pastor for 4 years in Green Bay, and a former member of Luther Preparatory School's Governing Board.
Pastor Aaron Schultz
I joined the pastoral staff at Messiah in 2014. Growing up I enjoyed calling several places home - Plymouth, NE, where I was born; Chesaning, MI, and Juneau, WI. I attended Martin Luther College and Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. I had the privilege of vicaring (internship) at Faith, Fond du Lac, WI. Even better, I met my wife there! God has blessed us with many opportunities to serve mission congregations in El Paso, TX, West Des Moines, IA, and now, Green Bay.
Jill and I have also been blessed with four children - Hannah, Levi and Hope; and a daughter Ellen who has already reached her heavenly home. I enjoy outdoor activities with my family, softball, hunting, and a good game (sporting and otherwise)...Packers anyone?
Green Bay is our home. I look forward to opportunities to grow in faith, meet new faces and share the good news of Jesus!
Leadership team
Our church is led by a church council with men eager to serve their Lord. They lead various committees who carry out the work and ministry of Messiah at the direction of the congregation. If you should ever have any questions, please feel free to contact them at any time. Their phone and email information is available in the church office or in the print edition of our church directory (back cover).
